SCCL bags IEI Excellence award

Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has received another award at the national level for its outstanding business values in the field of coal mining over 100 years. It has been selected for this year's prestigious Institute of Engineers India (IEI)'s annual Industry Excellence Award. The award was presented at the 36th Indian Engineering Congress on Sunday during the IEI Centenary celebrations in New Delhi. K Nagbhushan Reddy, General Manager of the company, received the award on behalf of Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar from the Union Minister for Heavy Industries Mahendra Nath Pandey.

IEI President Narendra Singh, who presided over the function, said: "Singareni Collieries was selected for the award for upholding better trade values." After receiving the award, Nagbhushan Reddy said that under Sridhar's leadership, Singareni Collieries has successfully entered the coal mining sector as well as the 1200 MW thermal and 300 MW solar power sectors. Under his leadership, the company has received numerous national and international awards.

The awards received by Singareni in the last seven years include Asia Pacific entrepreneurship award, outstanding global leadership, excellence in cost management and best management, Asia's most trusted company, Golden Peacock's innovative award and Redcross' best services under CSR among others.
